#8 of 9 hotels in West Towne & Middleton by Axel's take. West Towne & Middleton is #4 of 5 places to stay in Madison, Wisconsin. The best hotels in West Towne & Middleton, ranked · Where to stay in Madison, Wisconsin

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical conference base with friendly staff, but rooms and quiet vary. a full-service 3-star conference hotel in suburban Middleton, scored for what it is.

Madison Marriott West is a full-service 3-star conference hotel in suburban Middleton, better suited to meetings and west-side visits than downtown sightseeing. We'd choose it for convenience rather than character. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms and friendly staff, and Tripadvisor reviewers also single out helpful employees. The indoor pool, substantial gym and restaurant make it a practical all-in-one base.

The main compromise is consistency. Marriott advertises renovated rooms, yet some 2026 Tripadvisor guests still describe dated bedrooms and bathrooms; housekeeping receives occasional criticism against a broadly positive picture elsewhere. Atrium bar and event noise can reach lower-floor rooms, so request a higher floor if sleep matters. Parking costs extra, breakfast isn't automatically included, and Marriott now says there is no airport shuttle. We'd skip it for a car-free Madison break or a reliably quiet retreat.

Best for: conference and wedding guests; west-side business travelers; families traveling by car
Watch out for: atrium noise on lower floors; uneven room condition; paid parking and breakfast extras
Location: Suburban Middleton near Greenway Station; less convenient for downtown sightseeing without a car.
Rooms: Comfortable for many guests, but recent reviews still describe some dated bedrooms and bathrooms.
Cleanliness: Strong Expedia feedback overall, with some recent Tripadvisor housekeeping lapses.
Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength; breakfast service draws mixed feedback.
Amenities: Indoor pool, 24-hour gym, Greatroom restaurant and bar, plus extensive meeting space.
Fees and surprises: Parking and pets carry fees; check breakfast inclusion and Wi-Fi eligibility. No hotel airport shuttle.
