Axel's take

A practical mid-range chain hotel near UW Hospital and campus

8.7/10

A strong UW-area choice, with excellent breakfast and a genuinely useful shuttle.

This mid-range chain hotel is a strong pick for UW Hospital appointments, campus visits and Badger games. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and recent Expedia guests consistently praise clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and the included hot breakfast. The free two-mile shuttle is a meaningful advantage, while an indoor pool, hot tub and restaurant give it more substance than a basic overnight stop.

The main compromise is location: convenient for the university, less so for a downtown-focused weekend. Parking also gets tight; one vehicle per room is included, but an on-site space isn't guaranteed. Some bathrooms are compact. Expedia still carries an elevator-work notice dated September 14, 2026, so confirm access if mobility matters. We'd choose it for practical comfort rather than downtown atmosphere.

Best for

  • UW Hospital patients and families
  • Campus visitors
  • Badger sports weekends

Watch out for

  • Limited parking at busy times
  • Not a downtown location
  • Confirm elevator access after listed work
Location
Well placed for UW Hospital and the west side of campus; downtown requires a longer trip.
Rooms
Guests generally find beds comfortable and rooms quiet; some bathroom layouts are compact.
Cleanliness
A consistent strength across Tripadvisor, Booking.com and recent Expedia reviews.
Service
Helpful staff and shuttle drivers receive substantial praise across sites.
Amenities
Included hot breakfast, free two-mile shuttle, indoor pool, hot tub, gym and restaurant.
Fees and surprises
One vehicle per room parks free, subject to space; additional vehicles cost extra, with event-day restrictions.
