#2 of 9 hotels in South I-27 & Avenue Q by Axel's take. South I-27 & Avenue Q is #6 of 6 places to stay in Lubbock, Texas. The best hotels in South I-27 & Avenue Q, ranked · Where to stay in Lubbock, Texas

Axel's take: 7.7/10

A practical budget stop with useful extras, but uneven upkeep and noise control. a no-frills 2-star hotel beside I-27, scored for what it is.

This no-frills 2-star beside I-27 is a good pick for a short, car-based Lubbock stay. Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff, while Booking.com’s overall rating is more restrained. Free breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi help the value, and Wyndham confirms an indoor heated pool, hot tub and fitness center—useful extras for this class.

The compromises are compact standard rooms and imperfect consistency. Recent guests across sites mention audible neighbors or hallway noise; others describe worn carpets, tired towels and uneven housekeeping or front-desk service. Breakfast earns both praise and complaints about quality and replenishment. We'd choose it for an inexpensive overnight or a practical base for driving to Texas Tech, but skip it if you're a light sleeper or expect uniformly fresh interiors.

  • Best for: road-trippers stopping overnight; budget-conscious visitors with a car; families wanting an indoor pool

  • Watch out for: neighbor and hallway noise; compact standard rooms; uneven upkeep and breakfast

  • Location: Easy I-27 access; better as a driving base than a walkable Texas Tech stay.

  • Rooms: Mini-fridges and microwaves are standard; guests report compact rooms and variable wear.

  • Cleanliness: Positive overall, but repeated reports of dirty carpets, odors or missed cleaning temper confidence.

  • Service: Many guests praise helpful staff; others report abrupt interactions and inconsistent problem handling.

  • Amenities: Free breakfast and Wi-Fi, indoor heated pool, hot tub, gym and guest laundry.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is free; Expedia lists paid early check-in and possible incidental deposits or card authorizations; pets are not allowed.
