Friendly staff and a good breakfast lift this practical budget stop above the basics. a budget 2-star chain hotel off West Loop 289, scored for what it is.

Comfort Inn & Suites Lubbock West is a budget 2-star chain hotel that makes a strong case for keeping things simple. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff, comfortable beds and hot breakfast, with breakfast attendant Joe earning particular recognition. Free parking, an indoor pool and rooms with refrigerators and microwaves make it a practical choice for road trips and university visits by car.

The trade-off is an aging building beside a busy road. Recent reviews describe traffic noise and some worn bathrooms and upholstery, although cleanliness feedback remains broadly positive. A July 2026 Expedia guest reported elevator construction; confirm its status if stairs would be difficult. We'd choose it for friendly service and useful basics, not polished interiors. Light sleepers and travelers wanting a walkable campus or downtown stay should look elsewhere.
