Axel's take: 8.5/10

A dependable San Isidro base, strongest on staff, cleanliness and location. a practical 4-star business hotel in San Isidro, scored for what it is.

Novotel Lima San Isidro is a practical 4-star business hotel that delivers comfortable basics in a convenient financial-district setting. It's a strong pick for meetings nearby or a quieter Lima base, with El Olivar Park and restaurants within walking distance. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests broadly agree on the strengths: clean rooms, helpful staff and comfortable stays. The heated indoor pool, gym and Lienzo restaurant give it useful extras beyond somewhere to sleep.

The trade-off is polish rather than missing essentials. Some guests find the room interiors dated, and recent Accor and Expedia reviews suggest breakfast service can be uneven despite plenty of praise for the buffet. We'd choose it for straightforward comfort, not a design-led stay. Skip it if your priority is being in the middle of Miraflores or Barranco.

• Best for: business travelers visiting San Isidro; travelers preferring a quieter base; families wanting an indoor pool

• Watch out for: some dated room interiors; occasionally uneven breakfast service; not in Miraflores or Barranco

• Location: Financial-district setting near El Olivar Park, shops and restaurants.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and functional; some guests want more contemporary interiors.

• Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across major sites, including recent Expedia reviews.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a consistent strength; breakfast service is less consistent.

• Amenities: Heated indoor pool, gym, spa, Lienzo restaurant and bar terrace.

• Fees and surprises: Check breakfast inclusion and transfer charges; official and booking sites disagree on parking charges.
