Hotels in Lansing, MichiganAxel's take
A modern, car-friendly 3-star hotel off I-96
8.4/10
A strong MSU-area base for clean rooms and helpful staff, provided you drive.
This modern 3-star Courtyard in Okemos is a strong pick for business trips and Michigan State visits with a car. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean, spacious rooms, comfortable beds and helpful front-desk staff; HotelPlanner and Tripadvisor reviews also highlight good service. Free parking, a well-liked gym and a lobby Bistro make it a practical, comfortable base rather than a destination hotel.
The trade-off is location: you’re off I-96, about five miles from MSU, not in walkable downtown East Lansing. Breakfast costs extra, and there’s no pool. A few recent guests mention weak shower pressure, while occasional reviews flag slow Bistro service. We’d choose it for straightforward comfort and easy highway access, but skip it if campus walkability, swimming or included breakfast are priorities.
