Axel's take: 8.7/10
A strong couples’ retreat where lake-view rooms are the main reason to book. An independent 3-star lakeside boutique inn, scored for what it is.
The Geneva Inn is an independent 3-star lakeside boutique inn, and it’s a strong pick for a relaxed couples’ getaway rather than a full-service resort. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean rooms, comfortable beds and welcoming staff; Booking.com’s cleanliness and comfort ratings reinforce that picture. We’d choose a lake-facing room with a balcony: the views are the standout, with the shore path adding an easy way to enjoy the setting.
The trade-offs are mostly practical. Downtown is a short drive rather than an easy stroll, there’s no pool, and not every balcony overlooks the lake. Breakfast costs extra, with the café operating seasonally and lighter lobby options off-season. The former Grandview restaurant’s renovation is finished: Oak & Oar opened in May 2025. We’d skip it if you want downtown nightlife on foot or lots of resort activities.
