8.1/10
A strong lake-view base with spacious suites, but uneven polish.
Bella Vista Suites is an independent 3-star all-suite hotel across from Geneva Lake, and we'd pick it for balcony views and easy walks downtown rather than luxury. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the location, spacious accommodation and friendly staff. Cleanliness ratings are strong overall, and the indoor pool, hot tub and salt sauna give it more substance than a basic sightseeing base. Book a lake-facing suite if the view matters.
The trade-off is consistency. Management reported finishing suite updates in April 2026, yet some later guests still describe dated fittings and limited kitchenette equipment; sofa-bed comfort also draws complaints across sites. Deep tub access deserves checking if mobility is an issue, and there's a nightly resort fee. We'd skip it for uniformly polished rooms or a full-service resort experience.

Best for: Couples booking lake-view balconies; Travelers exploring downtown on foot; Small groups wanting suite space
Watch out for: Uneven room condition and sofa-bed comfort; Deep tubs may complicate shower access; Nightly resort fee
Location: Across from the lake, with downtown restaurants, shops and boat departures nearby.
Rooms: Spacious suites with balconies; recent reports suggest updates have not eliminated every dated fitting.
Cleanliness: Strong overall ratings and recent praise, despite some housekeeping complaints in 2025.
Service: Recent guests commonly praise friendly, helpful staff, though problem handling has occasionally disappointed.
Amenities: Indoor pool, hot tub, Himalayan salt sauna, exercise facility and spa; not a sprawling resort.
Fees and surprises: Expedia lists a mandatory nightly resort fee covering parking, Wi-Fi and pool access.
