A promising Surulere base, but the glowing ratings need more independent backing. an independent 3-star hotel in Surulere, scored for what it is.

Taishi is an independent 3-star hotel in Surulere that looks worth considering for a mainland Lagos stay. Google’s strong overall rating is encouraging, and March 2026 guest comments praise comfortable rooms, accommodating staff and good food. Expedia lists continental breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking as included, while Google also lists a pool. We’d shortlist it for visits centered on Surulere rather than treat it as a proven all-rounder.

The reservation is consistency: accessible guest feedback is concentrated on Google, with no Tripadvisor reviews and little recent cross-site evidence. Google’s topic summary also flags some bathroom and cleanliness dissatisfaction, despite positive individual comments. Expedia says there is no elevator and lists an evening check-in cutoff, so confirm late arrivals directly. Skip it if step-free access or well-established housekeeping consistency is essential.

• Best for: travelers visiting Surulere; short mainland Lagos stays; guests wanting breakfast and parking included

• Watch out for: Limited independent review coverage; Mixed bathroom and cleanliness signals; No elevator; confirm late check-in

• Location: On Mba Street off Tafawabalewa Crescent in Surulere, near Teslim Balogun Stadium.

• Rooms: Recent accessible Google comments praise comfort; Expedia lists air conditioning and workspaces.

• Cleanliness: Positive individual comments contrast with negative signals in Google’s small cleanliness and bathroom samples.

• Service: Staff friendliness and helpfulness are the clearest recurring positives in accessible feedback.

• Amenities: Breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking are listed as included; Google lists a pool, but operation was not independently confirmed.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists no elevator and check-in ending at 8 p.m.; confirm arrival arrangements and any incidental deposit.
