#4 of 9 hotels in Surulere by Axel's take. Surulere is #6 of 6 places to stay in Lagos, Nigeria. The best hotels in Surulere, ranked · Where to stay in Lagos, Nigeria

Axel's take: 7.1/10

A practical Surulere base with useful leisure facilities, but limited recent room feedback. a simple 3-star hotel with serviced apartments in Surulere, scored for what it is.

Avital is a simple 3-star hotel with serviced apartments in Surulere, rather than a destination resort. We'd consider it for a mainland Lagos stay: shops and eateries are nearby, and the advertised pool, gym and spa add useful extras for this class. Google's 3.9/5 across more than 500 reviews suggests a broadly decent experience; late-2025 feedback on Trip.com and Tripadvisor praises friendly staff and security.

The catch is limited recent evidence about the rooms themselves. Expedia's two reviews date from 2017–2018, so their complaints about generator noise, Wi-Fi and cleanliness aren't proof of today's conditions. The hotel describes its entry rooms as compact and also sells kitchen-equipped studios; confirm the exact category and breakfast inclusion. We'd skip it for a resort holiday or if dependable room standards matter more than a convenient Surulere address.

  • Best for: short mainland Lagos stays; travelers visiting Surulere; guests seeking a kitchen-equipped studio

  • Watch out for: limited recent room-condition feedback; compact entry-level rooms; confirm breakfast inclusion and room category

  • Location: Surulere mainland base near shops and eateries, rather than a beach-resort setting.

  • Rooms: Hotel rooms and serviced apartments are advertised; the Oasis Plus studio specifically lists a private kitchen.

  • Cleanliness: Recent detailed evidence is too thin to establish consistency; Expedia's negative account is from 2018.

  • Service: Late-2025 Trip.com and Tripadvisor feedback praises staff, consistent with Google's broader service summary.

  • Amenities: Pool, gym, spa and dining are advertised; recreational spaces also admit local club members.

  • Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; Expedia lists breakfast and parking as included, but confirm your booking's terms.
