#6 of 9 hotels in Jordan & Yau Ma Tei by Axel's take. Jordan & Yau Ma Tei is #5 of 10 places to stay in Hong Kong. The best hotels in Jordan & Yau Ma Tei, ranked · Where to stay in Hong Kong

Axel's take: 8.3/10

A strong Kowloon base, especially if you choose your room carefully. a practical independent 4-star in Kowloon's Jordan district, scored for what it is.

Nathan Hotel is a practical independent 4-star that gets the important things right: convenient transport, comfortable beds and generally attentive service. We'd shortlist it for exploring Kowloon without paying for waterfront luxury. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise housekeeping and helpful staff, while Jordan MTR and Temple Street are close by. Larger rooms and family layouts are particular strengths, though entry-level rooms are considerably smaller.

Choose the category carefully: the hotel specifically identifies its Platinum rooms as renovated in 2025, rather than promising a uniformly refreshed building. Breakfast divides opinion and can become repetitive on longer stays; we'd consider eating locally instead. There's a gym but no pool. It's a strong pick for sightseeing and family trips, less compelling if you want resort facilities, harbour views or consistent luxury polish.

  • Best for: families choosing larger room categories; Kowloon food and market explorers; sightseers using public transport

  • Watch out for: substantial differences between room categories; mixed feedback on breakfast; no swimming pool

  • Location: Busy Nathan Road setting, roughly five minutes from Jordan MTR, with convenient airport-bus access.

  • Rooms: Smart rooms start at 20–23 square metres; larger categories offer substantially more space.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall guest feedback, with housekeeping repeatedly singled out for praise.

  • Service: Generally friendly and helpful, particularly concierge and housekeeping staff.

  • Amenities: Gym, Cantonese restaurant and bars; lounge access depends on room category, and there is no pool.

  • Fees and surprises: Check whether breakfast, service charge and hotel accommodation tax are included in your booking total.
