Hotels in HersheyA budget-friendly 3-star roadside hotel near Hershey
6.7/10
Useful for a short Hershey trip, but upkeep makes it a mixed pick.
This is a simple, budget-friendly 3-star off I-81: a practical base for Hershey attractions if you're driving. Free breakfast, parking and WiFi, plus rooms with microwaves and refrigerators, cover the essentials. Expedia guests frequently praise helpful staff and comfortable, clean rooms, and the pet-friendly policy suits road-trippers. We'd consider it for a short stay rather than make it the centerpiece of a family vacation.
The drawback is uneven upkeep. Tripadvisor and recent Expedia reviews repeatedly mention worn carpets, minor repairs and inconsistent cleaning; some report musty smells or bathroom mold, although plenty describe satisfactory stays. The indoor pool is advertised, but maintenance feedback varies, and a September 2026 guest reported the hot tub out of service. Confirm both before booking. We'd skip it if dependable cleanliness or swimming facilities are priorities.

Best for: Budget-conscious Hershey visitors with a car; Pet owners on road trips; Short overnight stays
Watch out for: Worn rooms and inconsistent cleaning; Pool maintenance and reported hot-tub outage; Additional pet fees
Location: Convenient off I-81 for driving to Hershey attractions; not a walkable sightseeing base.
Rooms: Microwaves and refrigerators are useful, but carpets, fixtures and doors draw recurring repair complaints.
Cleanliness: Many guests report clean rooms; repeated reports of mustiness, stained carpets and bathroom mold weaken consistency.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, with occasional check-in and responsiveness complaints.
Amenities: Free breakfast, WiFi and parking, plus a gym and indoor pool; swimming-facility upkeep is uneven.
Fees and surprises: Pets cost extra; a September 2026 review reported the hot tub unavailable, so check its status.
