Axel's take: 8.7/10

Strong comfort and location for the money, with noise and plumbing caveats. a modern independent mid-range hotel in Colonia Americana, scored for what it is.

Antré is a modern independent mid-range hotel in Colonia Americana, a short walk from Chapultepec’s restaurants and nightlife. It’s a strong pick for comfortable city exploring without luxury-hotel expectations. Booking.com and Expedia guests overwhelmingly praise the cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff; Tripadvisor’s smaller review pool is more mixed but echoes those strengths. The restaurant, bar, gym and included parking make it a practical, good-value base.

The main reservation is recurring reports of sewage smells from bathroom drains, including recent complaints—not just one old incident. Traffic and hallway noise also affect some rooms, so request a quieter room away from the avenue rather than assuming a high floor guarantees silence. Breakfast earns mixed feedback and isn’t included in every booking. We’d skip it if uninterrupted sleep or sensitivity to odors outweighs location and value.

• Best for: couples exploring Guadalajara; travelers wanting restaurants and nightlife nearby; value-minded city breaks

• Watch out for: recurring bathroom drain odors; traffic and hallway noise in some rooms; breakfast inclusion varies by booking

• Location: Walkable Colonia Americana setting, close to Chapultepec dining and nightlife.

• Rooms: Modern, comfortable rooms with well-liked beds; sound insulation is less consistent.

• Cleanliness: Housekeeping receives strong praise, but recurring drain odors remain a separate concern.

• Service: Generally friendly and helpful, with less consistent feedback about restaurant service.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, gym, free Wi-Fi and parking; the official site also lists in-room Alexa.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is listed as included; breakfast may cost extra unless bundled with your room.
