Axel's take: 7.6/10

Good space and friendly service, but dated bathrooms and noise limit the appeal. An older, budget-friendly mid-range hotel near Guadalajara Country Club, scored for what it is.

Country Hotel and Suites is an older, budget-friendly mid-range hotel near Guadalajara Country Club, better for practical stays than polished city breaks. We'd consider it for the roomy suites, free parking and generally helpful staff. Booking.com and Expedia guests regularly praise the service and value, while recent Tripadvisor guests also appreciate the covered, warm pool. It's especially convenient for visits to Country 2000 Hospital.

The catch is uneven upkeep. Across sites, guests mention aging bathrooms, worn fittings and occasional shower problems; cleanliness earns mostly positive feedback but isn't consistent in every room. Traffic and neighboring-room noise also recur. Breakfast costs extra, and reports about elevator access conflict, so confirm a suitable room if stairs are difficult. We'd skip it for a quiet retreat or a sightseeing trip centered on walking around the historic center.

• Best for: Budget-conscious families needing space; Visitors to Country 2000 Hospital; Travelers with a car

• Watch out for: Dated bathrooms and uneven maintenance; Traffic and neighboring-room noise; Confirm step-free room access

• Location: Near Country Club and Country 2000 Hospital; metro access is useful, but this isn't a historic-center walking base.

• Rooms: Suites offer generous space; bathroom condition and fittings draw recurring criticism.

• Cleanliness: Mostly praised on Booking.com and Expedia, with some recent reports of odors and inadequate cleaning.

• Service: Helpful staff are a consistent strength, although complaint handling gets mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Restaurant, free Wi-Fi and parking; recent guests praise the covered, warm pool.

• Fees and surprises: Breakfast costs extra; elevator listings conflict with guest reports, so verify access before booking.
