#3 of 9 hotels in Airport & 28th Street by Axel's take. Airport & 28th Street is #4 of 5 places to stay in Grand Rapids. The best hotels in Airport & 28th Street, ranked · Where to stay in Grand Rapids

Axel's take: 8.0/10

A strong airport stopover, but confirm the shuttle before counting on it. a simple, limited-service airport hotel, scored for what it is.

This simple, limited-service airport hotel is a strong pick for a short stay, with useful extras rather than full-service frills. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, welcoming staff and comfortable beds; Tripadvisor feedback is more mixed but also credits helpful employees. Free hot breakfast, parking, an indoor pool and lobby billiards make it good value for families and travelers passing through.

The main caution is airport transport: Hilton's own pages publish conflicting shuttle hours, and a December 2025 Tripadvisor guest reported a failed pickup arrangement. Confirm service directly for your flight. Some guests also describe noise carrying between rooms and inconsistent housekeeping during longer stays. We'd choose it for a practical overnight, not a quiet retreat or a downtown sightseeing base.

Best for: airport stopovers; families on short stays; value-minded travelers with a car
Watch out for: conflicting published shuttle hours; noise between rooms and floors; inconsistent stayover housekeeping
Location: Convenient for the airport and 28th Street shops and restaurants, rather than downtown sightseeing.
Rooms: Simple rooms with generally well-reviewed beds; some guests report intrusive neighboring-room noise.
Cleanliness: Strong recent Expedia feedback, though stayover cleaning receives repeated criticism elsewhere.
Service: Friendly staff earn frequent praise, with occasional complaints about check-in and problem handling.
Amenities: Free hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, indoor pool, gym and lobby billiards; expect limited-service facilities.
Fees and surprises: On-site parking is free; pets incur a nonrefundable fee. Confirm shuttle hours and any extended-parking terms.
