#2 of 2 hotels in Comstock Park by Axel's take. Comstock Park is #3 of 5 places to stay in Grand Rapids. The best hotels in Comstock Park, ranked · Where to stay in Grand Rapids

Axel's take: 7.4/10

Spacious suites and helpful staff make this practical, but maintenance needs attention. a simple, budget-friendly all-suite hotel in Comstock Park, scored for what it is.

Comfort Suites Grand Rapids North is a simple, budget-friendly all-suite hotel in Comstock Park, not downtown Grand Rapids. It’s a good pick for extra room near LMCU Ballpark: Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise spacious suites, comfortable beds and helpful staff. Breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi are included, and in-room microwaves and refrigerators make family stays easier.

The trade-off is inconsistent upkeep. Recent reviews describe broken room fixtures, uneven breakfast replenishment and disappointing pool conditions alongside plenty of clean, comfortable stays. Crucially, Choice confirms the hot tub is closed until further notice, despite still promoting it elsewhere on the page. There’s also a nightly hotel services fee. We’d choose it for a straightforward overnight stay, but skip it if dependable swimming facilities or polished surroundings are priorities.

  • Best for: families needing extra room; LMCU Ballpark visitors; travelers with a car

  • Watch out for: hot tub closed until further notice; inconsistent maintenance and pool conditions; nightly hotel services fee

  • Location: In Comstock Park near LMCU Ballpark; downtown sightseeing generally means driving.

  • Rooms: Spacious suites with sofa beds, microwaves and refrigerators; some recent guests report broken fixtures.

  • Cleanliness: Mostly positive room-cleanliness feedback, with less consistent reports about common areas and the pool.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though busy-period check-in problems appear in recent reviews.

  • Amenities: Free breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a gym and indoor pool; confirm pool availability before booking.

  • Fees and surprises: A nightly services fee applies; the hot tub is officially closed, and detailed policies prohibit pets except service animals.
