#4 of 5 hotels in Wyoming by Axel's take. Wyoming is #5 of 5 places to stay in Grand Rapids. The best hotels in Wyoming, ranked · Where to stay in Grand Rapids

Axel's take: 4.6/10

Free parking and comfortable beds cannot outweigh recurring upkeep and cleanliness problems. a basic 2-star roadside hotel south of downtown, scored for what it is.

This basic 2-star off US-131 is a budget stop, not a downtown base. Free parking, in-room microwaves and refrigerators are useful, and some guests praise comfortable beds and helpful staff. But Expedia’s roughly 5/10 overall rating and similarly weak Booking.com feedback make it hard to recommend even against modest budget-hotel expectations.

The recurring concerns go beyond dated decor: guests describe stained furnishings, worn bathrooms, plumbing faults and inconsistent cleaning. Breakfast is light rather than substantial. Wyndham advertises an indoor pool, but guests have reported closures; confirm availability before making it part of your plans. We’d skip this for family pool trips or any stay where dependable cleanliness matters more than keeping costs down.

  • Best for: budget motorists needing highway access; short stays with very modest expectations

  • Watch out for: recurring cleaning and maintenance complaints; pool availability needs confirmation; not a walkable downtown base

  • Location: Off US-131 on 28th Street; downtown attractions require a drive.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds earn praise, but worn bathrooms and faulty fixtures recur in guest accounts.

  • Cleanliness: Inconsistent: some guests report clean rooms, while others describe stains and inadequate cleaning.

  • Service: Helpful employees are a relative strength, though towel shortages and uneven problem handling appear in reviews.

  • Amenities: Free Wi-Fi, light breakfast, parking and an advertised indoor pool; reported pool closures warrant checking ahead.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is free; confirm pet charges and pool operation directly before booking.
