#5 of 5 hotels in Wyoming by Axel's take. Wyoming is #5 of 5 places to stay in Grand Rapids. The best hotels in Wyoming, ranked · Where to stay in Grand Rapids

Axel's take: 4.5/10

Convenient highway access cannot make up for unreliable cleaning and worn-out bathrooms. A worn 2-star roadside hotel south of downtown, scored for what it is.

This is a basic 2-star Baymont off US-131, not a downtown hotel you can use as a walkable base. Free parking, in-room microwaves and refrigerators are useful, and some recent guests praise comfortable beds and helpful staff. But the overall verdict is poor: Expedia and Tripadvisor ratings sit well below what we'd expect even from a simple budget stay.

The problem isn't a lack of luxury. Guests across sites repeatedly describe dirty or deteriorating bathrooms, smoke odors and neglected maintenance. Some 2026 reviews report clean rooms, but consistency remains the concern. Wyndham advertises an indoor pool; a September 2026 Expedia guest reported it out of service, so confirm before booking. Breakfast also regularly disappoints. We'd skip it for family pool trips, light sleepers or anyone who needs dependable cleanliness.

  • Best for: Drivers prioritizing US-131 access; Short stays with minimal expectations

  • Watch out for: Recurring bathroom cleanliness and maintenance complaints; Smoke odors and nighttime noise; Pool reported closed in September 2026

  • Location: Convenient to US-131, but downtown sightseeing requires transportation.

  • Rooms: Microwaves and refrigerators are useful; comfortable beds coexist with substantial wear.

  • Cleanliness: Some recent praise, but repeated bathroom complaints make standards unreliable.

  • Service: Helpful front-desk staff earn praise, though problem handling is uneven.

  • Amenities: Free breakfast and Wi-Fi; advertised indoor pool has recent closure reports.

  • Fees and surprises: Parking is free; a damage deposit and pet, early-arrival and late-departure fees are listed.
