Axel's take: 6.9/10

Go for the pyramid views, but expect uneven basics and check extras carefully. A no-frills budget hotel with private rooms beside the Giza plateau, scored for what it is.

Tut Pyramids View is a no-frills budget hotel whose rooftop panorama is the strongest reason to book. We'd consider it for a short, pyramids-focused stay rather than a comfortable Cairo base. Booking.com guests rate location and value above facilities, while 2026 Tripadvisor and Expedia reviews praise helpful staff, comfortable rooms and the views.

The catch is consistency. Older reviews repeatedly flag weak Wi-Fi, uneven housekeeping and noise; complaints about tour-selling and unexpected extras also warrant caution. Recent feedback is more encouraging, but doesn't establish that every problem is fixed. Expedia lists a 2026 room renovation, while Trip.com says 2025, so we'd treat the refurbishment details cautiously. Confirm your room, breakfast, transfers and excursion terms in writing. We'd skip it for remote work or a stay where dependable service matters more than the view.

• Best for: Budget travelers prioritizing pyramid views; Short, sightseeing-focused stays

• Watch out for: Unreliable Wi-Fi; Uneven housekeeping and noise reports; Confirm meal, transfer and tour charges

• Location: Close to the Sphinx side of the plateau; guests describe dirty streets and animal smells outside.

• Rooms: Simple air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms; the official site lists some doubles at just 12 square metres.

• Cleanliness: Recent guests report clean rooms, but older Tripadvisor reviews contain repeated housekeeping complaints.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff earn praise, alongside complaints about missed arrangements and tour-selling pressure.

• Amenities: Rooftop terrace, restaurant, free Wi-Fi and transfer arrangements; Wi-Fi reliability is a recurring weakness.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; confirm breakfast inclusion and all meal or excursion charges before agreeing.
