Axel's take: 7.5/10

A friendly neighborhood base, with modest comforts and a few practical compromises. a simple, family-run 3-star in Mohandessin, scored for what it is.

Havana is a simple, family-run 3-star in Mohandessin, best chosen for helpful people and nearby restaurants rather than extensive facilities. We'd consider it a good everyday base: Booking.com guests rate staff and location above the rooms, while recent Expedia guests praise welcoming service and clean accommodation. Air-conditioned rooms include private bathrooms, and the Casbah restaurant and bar add convenience after sightseeing.

The compromises are worth knowing. Breakfast feedback ranges from satisfying to limited, with one recent guest describing a fixed selection despite buffet listings. There are occasional bathroom-maintenance complaints, but not enough evidence to call them the defining experience. Expedia lists no elevator or on-site parking. We'd skip it if step-free access is essential or you want a polished hotel rather than a straightforward neighborhood stay.

• Best for: budget-conscious independent travelers; visitors with plans in Mohandessin; travelers who prioritize helpful staff

• Watch out for: no elevator; limited breakfast selection reported; no on-site parking

• Location: Mohandessin shops and restaurants are convenient; this is not a pyramids-side hotel.

• Rooms: Simple air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms; occasional shower and plumbing complaints.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive feedback, including recent stays, though housekeeping is not uniformly praised.

• Service: Helpful, welcoming staff are the clearest strength across guest-review sites.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar, free Wi-Fi and breakfast; breakfast format appears inconsistent across listings and feedback.

• Fees and surprises: Airport transfers cost extra; Expedia lists stairs-only upper floors and no on-site parking.
