Axel's take: 8.5/10
A strong Flagstaff base for drivers, with welcoming staff and useful extras. A refreshed 3-star hotel near I-40, two miles from downtown, scored for what it is.
The Kendrick is a refreshed 3-star hotel near I-40, better suited to exploring Flagstaff by car than stepping straight into downtown. Choice’s Ascend branding doesn’t make it luxury, but it delivers well on mid-range basics. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise clean rooms, comfortable beds and helpful staff, with recent reviews especially positive. The indoor pool, hot tub and attached Northern Pines restaurant make it a practical family or road-trip base.
The main compromises are the roadside setting and breakfast costing extra. Noise reports vary: many guests sleep comfortably, but some mention neighboring rooms or activity around the pool, so light sleepers should request a quieter room. We’d choose it for friendly service and useful amenities, and skip it if a walkable downtown address is the priority.
