Courtyard Edinburgh is a practical 4-star city hotel rather than a luxury retreat, and a strong pick for sightseeing or a Playhouse show. Its biggest advantage is location: Picardy Place trams are close, with Waverley and Princes Street roughly ten minutes away on foot. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise comfortable beds, generally clean rooms and welcoming staff. The restaurant, bar and heated terrace make it useful beyond simply somewhere to sleep.

The main compromise is noise: recent guests mention traffic, theatre crowds and early bottle collections, so request a room away from roads and service areas. Some also flag compact rooms, awkward bathrooms or minor maintenance problems, though these do not dominate the overall feedback. We'd choose it for convenience and dependable comfort; light sleepers and travelers expecting spacious, full-service luxury should look elsewhere.
