Axel's take on Brooklin & Berrini: #9 of 10 in Sao Paulo, 4.5/10
Book for a nearby office or event, not because the skyline looks convenient. Good hotels are the main strength; weak sightseeing connections, limited doorstep activity and above-average accommodation costs make this a specialist work-trip choice.
Berrini's business towers, event venues and shopping complexes make it a practical work-trip base. Avenida Engenheiro Luís Carlos Berrini and the streets toward the river are built around corporate activity rather than sightseeing. Brooklin's residential streets offer a different pace, so the two names should not be treated as a promise of one consistent neighborhood experience.
Do not assume Brooklin metro station is around the corner from a Berrini address. The riverfront uses Line 9; reaching Line 5 may mean a longer walk or bus. Choose this when it shortens your actual working day, or for deliberately subdued evenings. Most leisure visitors will find a more rewarding base farther north.
- Best for: business trips and conventions, a quiet stay
- Skip it if: This is primarily a sightseeing holiday; You want spontaneous evening street life
- Getting around: Berrini uses Line 9; Line 5's Brooklin station serves different streets. GRU: express, Line 4 and Line 9; CGH: Line 9 to Morumbi, then Line 17, or taxi. Line 17 runs Mon–Sat, 06:00–22:00. VCP: road transfer.
- After dark: Expect a more subdued office-district evening away from restaurants; plan transport rather than count on an active walk home.
- Rates: Typical Axel rate $137 a night
