#7 of 7 hotels in Main Street Pier & Boardwalk by Axel's take. Main Street Pier & Boardwalk is #1 of 6 places to stay in Daytona Beach. The best hotels in Main Street Pier & Boardwalk, ranked · Where to stay in Daytona Beach

Axel's take: 6.3/10

Beachfront convenience is the draw; inconsistent housekeeping is the catch. a no-frills beachfront motel near Daytona’s pier, scored for what it is.

Sandals Inn is a no-frills beachfront motel whose strongest selling point is its position near the pier, boardwalk and restaurants. It’s a workable budget base if direct beach access and an outdoor pool matter more than polished rooms. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise the location and helpful staff, and some report clean, perfectly adequate accommodation.

The trade-off is inconsistent upkeep: dated furnishings, musty smells, dirty floors and missed housekeeping recur in recent feedback, with cleanliness concerns also appearing on Tripadvisor. Parking is tight, and there’s no elevator. The official website advertises breakfast, but multiple 2026 guests say it wasn’t provided. We’d consider it for a short, beach-focused stay, but skip it if dependable cleanliness or step-free access is essential.

  • Best for: budget-minded beachgoers; short stays near the boardwalk

  • Watch out for: inconsistent cleaning and dated rooms; tight parking and no elevator; advertised breakfast may not be available

  • Location: Direct beach access, with the pier, boardwalk and restaurants within walking distance.

  • Rooms: Basic and dated; recent guests mention musty smells and maintenance shortcomings.

  • Cleanliness: Mixed: clean-room reports coexist with repeated complaints about floors, bathrooms and housekeeping.

  • Service: Front-desk friendliness earns frequent praise; housekeeping follow-through is less dependable.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi; confirm breakfast rather than relying on the website.

  • Fees and surprises: A damage deposit applies; parking-charge listings conflict, so confirm terms and availability before arrival.
