Axel's take: 8.1/10

A solid roadside Hampton with welcoming staff, but cooling can be inconsistent. a recently renovated, limited-service 3-star in northeast Columbia, scored for what it is.

This is a straightforward, limited-service 3-star for drivers visiting northeast Columbia or the Fort Jackson area. Hilton calls it recently renovated, and recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests generally describe clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast earns plenty of praise, particularly for its helpful attendants. With breakfast and Wi-Fi included, plus a gym and seasonal outdoor pool, it's a strong pick for a practical overnight or short family visit.

The main reservation is room maintenance: several 2026 guests across Expedia and Tripadvisor report cooling problems, while a couple mention toilets running overnight. Those complaints don't outweigh the broadly positive feedback, but we'd check the air-conditioning promptly rather than wait until bedtime. This is a driving base, not a downtown sightseeing address. Also confirm parking before booking: Hilton's current policy lists a charge, although booking sites still advertise it as free. We'd skip it if reliable overnight cooling is your overriding priority.

• Best for: road-trip stopovers; Fort Jackson visitors with a car; short business stays

• Watch out for: repeated reports of inconsistent cooling; occasional noisy plumbing; conflicting parking policies

• Location: Off Two Notch Road between I-77 and I-20; better suited to drivers than downtown explorers.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable and refreshed, but recent cooling and plumbing complaints warrant checking the room early.

• Cleanliness: Mostly strong recent feedback; one October 2026 guest reported damp carpet and a mildew smell.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff and breakfast attendants are recurring strengths.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast and Wi-Fi, fitness center and seasonal outdoor pool; no airport shuttle.

• Fees and surprises: Pets incur a nonrefundable fee; confirm parking charges directly because Hilton and booking sites disagree.
