#5 of 9 hotels in Northeast Columbia & Fort Jackson by Axel's take. Northeast Columbia & Fort Jackson is #5 of 5 places to stay in Columbia, South Carolina. The best hotels in Northeast Columbia & Fort Jackson, ranked · Where to stay in Columbia, South Carolina

Axel's take: 7.3/10

Friendly staff and comfortable beds, but upkeep needs more consistency. a practical 3-star suburban hotel near I-77 and I-20, scored for what it is.

This 3-star Delta is a practical suburban base for drivers visiting northeast Columbia or Fort Jackson, rather than a downtown sightseeing hotel. We'd consider it for a short stay: Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff and comfortable beds, while the attached Dos Amigos restaurant gets enthusiastic mentions. Free parking and easy highway access strengthen the case.

The trade-off is uneven upkeep. Alongside many clean-room reports, recent guests describe bathrooms needing attention, missed cleaning and maintenance problems, including unreliable hot water. These aren't universal experiences, but they recur enough to temper expectations. Guests also reported outdoor-pool closures in 2026; confirm reopening before planning around it. Breakfast service and hours deserve checking, too. We'd skip it if spotless consistency, dependable facilities or a walkable downtown location matter most.

  • Best for: drivers making a short stop; Fort Jackson visitors; business travelers in northeast Columbia

  • Watch out for: uneven housekeeping and maintenance; outdoor-pool closure reports in 2026; breakfast availability and hours need checking

  • Location: Convenient for I-77 and I-20; better suited to driving than downtown sightseeing.

  • Rooms: Comfortable beds draw praise, but guests report worn details and recurring maintenance faults.

  • Cleanliness: Generally positive ratings, tempered by repeated recent complaints about bathrooms and missed cleaning.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful front-desk staff are a recurring strength across review sites.

  • Amenities: Gym, Dos Amigos restaurant and an advertised outdoor—not indoor—pool; confirm pool operation.

  • Fees and surprises: On-site parking is free; check breakfast inclusions and operating hours before arrival.
