Axel's take: 8.7/10

A strong game-day base with welcoming staff, rooftop views and some late-night noise. a modern, upscale Marriott hotel in the riverfront entertainment district, scored for what it is.

This modern, upscale Marriott hotel makes most sense for a Cincinnati weekend built around sports, concerts and restaurants. Great American Ball Park is across the street, and the riverfront is close by. We'd pick it for that convenience, backed by consistently strong guest ratings. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise welcoming staff and clean, comfortable rooms; the AC Upper Deck rooftop bar adds river and skyline views. Some rooms have balconies worth considering.

The trade-off is being in the middle of the entertainment district: guests in bar-facing rooms report late-night music, so light sleepers should request a quieter position. Breakfast and parking cost extra, with event-day parking charges possible. A few recent Tripadvisor guests also report room-assignment disappointments. It's a strong choice for being near the action, less convincing for a quiet retreat.

  • Best for: Reds and Bengals fans; Concert weekends; Couples who enjoy nightlife

  • Watch out for: Late-night noise in bar-facing rooms; Breakfast and parking cost extra; Confirm reserved balcony and view categories

  • Location: Across from Great American Ball Park, with riverfront walks, restaurants and entertainment nearby.

  • Rooms: Modern and generally comfortable; balcony and river-view options add appeal, but room position matters for noise.

  • Cleanliness: Strong overall feedback across sites, with occasional recent housekeeping misses rather than a dominant pattern.

  • Service: Warm, helpful staff are a recurring strength; some recent complaints concern room assignments and checkout flexibility.

  • Amenities: Rooftop bar, lobby lounge, breakfast restaurant and fitness center; no airport shuttle.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast, valet parking and pets incur charges; nearby public garages are alternatives, and event parking rates may apply.
