Axel's take: 8.1/10
A strong downtown base for walkers, with welcoming staff but uncertain pool access. a boutique-style 4-star hotel in Charleston’s Historic District, scored for what it is.
The Lindy is a boutique-style 4-star whose strongest assets are its Historic District location and people. It’s a strong pick for exploring Charleston on foot, with King Street shopping and restaurants close by. Recent Tripadvisor and Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, particularly the bell and valet teams, and generally clean, comfortable rooms. Lenoir and Handy & Hot add convenient dining options, while complimentary bikes are useful for exploring farther afield.
The trade-offs are compact standard rooms and extra charges: Expedia lists mandatory resort and destination fees, and valet parking costs extra. Most importantly, multiple summer 2026 guests reported the outdoor pool closed. Marriott’s preparation page says it is open, but reopening could not be independently confirmed; call before booking if swimming matters. We’d choose it for a sightseeing weekend, not a pool-centered escape or an expectation of spacious luxury.
