Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile is a modern, French-style luxury 5-star on a Gold Coast street, steps from Michigan Avenue, Oak Street Beach and the Hancock building. Tripadvisor, Hotels.com, Kayak and Booking.com guests all rate it highly for the class, and the praise is consistent: the location, friendly, helpful staff, very comfortable beds, roomy, clean rooms and a well-regarded breakfast. One recent guest called it very quiet at night.
Held to luxury standards, the faults are small but real. Some guests mention dated touches in a few rooms, uneven housekeeping, temperature control quirks and the odd bit of hallway noise.
