The Whitehall is a historic mid-range boutique hotel just off the Magnificent Mile, and we'd pick it for location rather than polish. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, clean rooms and generous room sizes; Tripadvisor guests also highlight comfortable beds. Shopping, the lakefront and the Red Line are within easy walking reach. A restaurant, bakery and updated fitness center make it a practical city-break base.
