Axel's take: 7.7/10

A personable city base with a lovely patio, but uneven four-star polish. An independent 4-star boutique hotel in central Casablanca, scored for what it is.

Hôtel GAUTHIER is an independent 4-star boutique hotel whose strongest assets are its central neighborhood, welcoming staff and appealing restaurant patio. We'd pick it for a short Casablanca stay where location and personality matter more than luxury polish. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise the comfortable beds and helpful reception, while the hotel's own site makes Le Patio bar and restaurant a centerpiece.

The trade-off is consistency. Guests describe some worn rooms and finishes, and several reported air-conditioning problems in spring and summer 2025, although later feedback includes working A/C. Bar and patio noise also reaches some rooms. We'd request a quiet room and confirm cooling before arrival; skip it if undisturbed sleep and reliably polished four-star facilities are essential.

• Best for: Couples on a short city break; Travelers who prioritize neighborhood and dining

• Watch out for: Bar and patio noise in some rooms; Uneven room condition; Air-conditioning complaints in 2025

• Location: Central Gauthier is a strong point: Booking.com guests rate the location 8.7/10.

• Rooms: Comfortable beds, but room sizes and upkeep vary; some guests find the finishes tired.

• Cleanliness: Generally well reviewed rather than exceptional, with Booking.com cleanliness at 8.0/10.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are among the most consistent positives across guest feedback.

• Amenities: Le Patio restaurant, terraces and bar provide the main appeal beyond the rooms.

• Fees and surprises: City tax applies; breakfast and airport transfers can cost extra. Expedia lists no onsite parking, so confirm arrangements.
