A practical beachside base, but room quality needs more consistency. a simple 3-star hotel across from Marbella Beach, scored for what it is.

Isla Capri is a simple 3-star across the road from Marbella Beach, outside Cartagena’s walled center. It’s a reasonable budget-minded base rather than a hotel to build your holiday around. Booking.com and Tripadvisor guests generally praise the helpful staff, beach access and breakfast; the hotel also includes parking. Air-conditioned rooms and some sea views round out a useful, no-frills package.

The compromises deserve attention. Guests describe a very small pool, traffic noise and uneven room maintenance, while several 2025–26 Expedia reviews report cleanliness problems, including cockroaches. Those reports sit alongside plenty of positive feedback, but make consistency a concern. Expedia explicitly lists no hot water, and there’s no elevator. We’d consider it for an uncomplicated sightseeing stay, but skip it if hot showers, quiet nights or step-free access are essential.

• Best for: budget-minded sightseers; travelers wanting easy beach access; drivers needing included parking

• Watch out for: no hot water or elevator; traffic noise and a tiny pool; uneven maintenance and cleanliness

• Location: Across a road from Marbella Beach, outside the walled center; convenient for beach access and airport transfers.

• Rooms: Simple air-conditioned rooms; sea views vary, with recurring complaints about noise and condition.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive overall, but several recent Expedia guests report dirty rooms, including two cockroach reports.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength, though problem handling receives mixed feedback.

• Amenities: Included breakfast, free Wi-Fi and parking, restaurant and a small pool—not a resort-style setup.

• Fees and surprises: Expedia lists no hot water; no elevator. Confirm the exact room category and balcony before booking.
