#4 of 4 hotels in Shelburne Road by Axel's take. Shelburne Road is #4 of 5 places to stay in Burlington. The best hotels in Shelburne Road, ranked · Where to stay in Burlington

Axel's take: 5.4/10

Helpful staff cannot make up for inconsistent rooms and overdue repairs. A worn, budget 2-star roadside motel outside downtown Burlington, scored for what it is.

This is a basic roadside motel, not a downtown Burlington hotel, and we'd approach it cautiously even by budget standards. The Shelburne Road location is practical for drivers, with restaurants nearby and straightforward access to Burlington. Staff earn praise on Tripadvisor and Expedia, and some recent guests report comfortable beds and clean, partly refreshed rooms. But the room-to-room inconsistency makes it hard to recommend confidently.

Recent reviews repeatedly describe damp or smoky odors, worn furnishings, cleanliness problems and broken televisions or bathroom fittings. Guests reported renovation work during summer 2026, while July and September accounts describe the outdoor pool as unusable or abandoned. Don't book expecting a pool break or a fully renovated property. It may serve for a short, no-frills stop, but we'd skip it if reliable cleanliness and working basics are priorities.

  • Best for: Drivers needing a short stop; Travelers comfortable with worn motel rooms

  • Watch out for: Recurring odor, cleanliness and maintenance complaints; Renovation disruption and reported outdoor-pool closure; Conflicting parking and laundry availability

  • Location: Roadside Shelburne Road setting with nearby restaurants; better suited to driving than downtown sightseeing on foot.

  • Rooms: Some refreshed rooms and comfortable beds, but recent guests also report damaged fittings and nonworking televisions.

  • Cleanliness: Uneven: clean-room reports coexist with repeated complaints about odors, bathroom mold and dirty surfaces.

  • Service: Staff friendliness is a recurring strength, although problem handling receives mixed feedback.

  • Amenities: Wi-Fi, refrigerators and microwaves are listed; guests reported the outdoor pool closed in summer 2026.

  • Fees and surprises: Pet fees and a deposit apply; listings conflict on parking and laundry closures, so confirm availability directly.
