Axel's take: 8.5/10

A strong Buffalo base with welcoming staff, generous breakfast and a few dated edges. a no-frills budget chain hotel in Allentown, scored for what it is.

This no-frills budget chain hotel in Allentown is a strong pick for exploring Buffalo without paying for full-service extras. Tripadvisor and Booking.com guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and clean rooms; breakfast earns unusually enthusiastic feedback for this class. Free parking adds practical value, while nearby restaurants and downtown performance venues make the location useful beyond an overnight stop.

The trade-off is uneven polish: recent guests describe both remodeled rooms and older-looking ones, and some report intrusive heating or hallway noise. We'd request an updated room away from busy common areas, though quiet isn't guaranteed. The parking lot can also fill up. Choose it for friendly service and useful basics; skip it if contemporary design, dependable silence or a pool matters most.

• Best for: value-minded city breaks; downtown concert and theater trips; travelers arriving by car

• Watch out for: uneven room updates; heating and hallway noise; parking lot can fill up

• Location: Allentown restaurants are close, with convenient access to downtown theaters and attractions.

• Rooms: Generally comfortable; recent reviews describe a mix of updated and dated rooms, with occasional noise.

• Cleanliness: Broadly positive across sites; isolated recent housekeeping misses do not dominate the feedback.

• Service: Warm, helpful staff and local recommendations are the most consistent strengths.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, Wi-Fi and parking, plus a fitness center; no pool.

• Fees and surprises: Pets incur a fee in designated rooms; confirm current rules directly because booking-site policies differ.
