Axel's take: 8.6/10

Spacious renovated suites and a strong breakfast make this a dependable Hoover base. a renovated, mid-range all-suite Hilton hotel in suburban Hoover, scored for what it is.

This mid-range, all-suite Hilton hotel is a strong pick for families and business travelers who need space rather than downtown atmosphere. Separate living rooms, microwaves and mini-fridges make the suites practical, while free cooked-to-order breakfast, an evening reception and parking add genuine value. Booking.com and Expedia guests repeatedly praise comfortable beds, clean rooms and helpful staff. Hilton now labels the property recently renovated, and newer guest reports are noticeably more positive than the worn-room complaints from 2025.

The main compromise is the setting: this is a suburban shopping-and-business base near Riverchase Galleria, not somewhere to explore Birmingham on foot. Also, don't book expecting the catalog's spa tub: a recent Tripadvisor guest reports its removal, and Hilton advertises only an indoor pool. We'd choose it for a roomy Hoover stay, but skip it for a car-free city break.

• Best for: families wanting separate living space; business travelers working in Hoover; road-trippers who appreciate breakfast and parking

• Watch out for: car recommended for sightseeing; no hot tub despite older listings; nonrefundable pet fee

• Location: Near Riverchase Galleria and I-459; downtown Birmingham is a drive away.

• Rooms: Renovated suites offer separate living areas, sofa beds, microwaves and mini-fridges.

• Cleanliness: Strong recent feedback across Booking.com, Expedia and Tripadvisor outweighs older worn-room complaints.

• Service: Helpful front-desk and breakfast staff are recurring strengths in guest reviews.

• Amenities: Cooked-to-order breakfast, evening reception, indoor pool, gym and restaurant; no outdoor pool advertised.

• Fees and surprises: Self-parking and Wi-Fi are complimentary; pets incur a nonrefundable fee, and Tesla charging carries usage charges.
