#1 of 3 hotels in Parnell by Axel's take. Parnell is #6 of 10 places to stay in Auckland. The best hotels in Parnell, ranked · Where to stay in Auckland

Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong Parnell base for clean, comfortable stays with useful apartment extras. a practical 4-star serviced-apartment hotel in Parnell, scored for what it is.

Quest Parnell is a practical 4-star serviced-apartment hotel, and we'd pick it for independence rather than full-service hotel polish. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise the cleanliness, welcoming staff and handy location; Tripadvisor guests echo the comfortable beds and useful laundry facilities. Kitchens, in-room washing facilities and a heated lap pool make it especially appealing for families and longer stays. Parnell's cafés and restaurants are close by, with Spark Arena and Auckland Museum within walking distance.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: parking costs extra and spaces are limited, reception isn't staffed around the clock, and the hotel excludes Sundays and public holidays from routine room servicing. Arrange late arrivals ahead of time. We'd skip it if you want round-the-clock front-desk service or a stay right in the downtown core.

  • Best for: families wanting kitchen and laundry facilities; longer stays in Parnell; concertgoers visiting Spark Arena

  • Watch out for: limited, paid parking; restricted reception hours; no routine Sunday or public-holiday servicing

  • Location: Near Parnell cafés and restaurants; walkable to Spark Arena and Auckland Museum rather than right downtown.

  • Rooms: Comfortable, self-contained studios and apartments; separate living areas in one- and two-bedroom layouts.

  • Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent guest feedback, with particularly strong Booking.com and Expedia ratings.

  • Service: Guests repeatedly praise helpful, welcoming staff; arrange arrivals outside reception hours in advance.

  • Amenities: Kitchen and laundry facilities, free Wi-Fi, a gym and heated lap pool; continental breakfast packs are available.

  • Fees and surprises: Undercover parking costs extra and is limited; routine servicing excludes Sundays and public holidays.
