7.2/10
A useful university-visit base, but pool construction and uneven upkeep temper the appeal.
This is a practical 3-star Holiday Inn near Briarwood Mall, not a downtown or central-campus hotel. It’s a reasonable pick for university visits with a car: free parking, roomy accommodations and an on-site restaurant make the logistics easy. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise helpful staff, comfortable beds and spacious rooms; the overall guest picture is good rather than outstanding.
The main reservation is upkeep. Tripadvisor and Expedia guests report recurring bathroom stains, cleaning misses and maintenance problems, alongside plenty of clean-room reports. More importantly, September 2026 Expedia guests describe the indoor pool as demolished or undergoing concrete work, despite IHG still advertising it; confirm reopening before booking. Breakfast inclusion varies by reservation. We’d skip it for a pool-focused family stay or if you want to explore downtown entirely on foot.

Best for: university visitors with a car; short business stays; travelers needing spacious suites
Watch out for: pool construction reported in September 2026; uneven bathroom upkeep and cleaning; breakfast not included with every reservation
Location: Near I-94 and Briarwood Mall; central campus and downtown require a longer trip.
Rooms: Spacious rooms with microwaves and mini-fridges; comfortable beds earn praise, but maintenance varies.
Cleanliness: Mostly positive feedback, with repeated bathroom stains and cleaning misses across Expedia and Tripadvisor.
Service: Recent Expedia reviews strongly favor the staff, though Tripadvisor includes complaints about problem handling.
Amenities: Restaurant and fitness center; September 2026 guests reported major indoor-pool construction, so verify availability.
Fees and surprises: Free self-parking; breakfast inclusion depends on the reservation, and IHG lists limited housekeeping.
