It's a strong pick for travelers who prioritize cleanliness and comfort over a central address. The canal-side terrace, restaurant, gym and bike hire make it more than somewhere to sleep.

The main compromise is getting around: expect roughly a 15-minute walk to the free ferry, then a short crossing to Centraal.
