Axel's take: 8.4/10

Fresh rooms and genuinely helpful staff, with disruptive roadworks outside. a renovated historic 4-star in Amsterdam-Oost, scored for what it is.

The Manor is a historic 4-star in Amsterdam-Oost, occupying a former hospital rather than a canal-house address. Following its 2026 renovation and move into Leonardo’s Limited Edition collection, it’s a strong pick for comfortable rooms and neighborhood life beyond the tourist center. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise helpful staff, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Nearby Muiderpoort station makes the location practical, while PepeNero brings Italian dining downstairs.

The big catch is Linnaeusstraat road construction: the hotel warns of works until February 2027 and recommends access via Domselaerstraat. Recent guests describe awkward walking routes, relocated transport stops and some daytime noise. Housekeeping is also on request, not automatic. We’d choose it for a neighborhood-based city break, but skip it if doorstep sightseeing or hassle-free access matters most.

• Best for: couples exploring beyond the tourist center; travelers who enjoy local cafés and restaurants; city breaks using public transport

• Watch out for: Linnaeusstraat roadworks until February 2027; main sights require travel; housekeeping must be requested

• Location: Amsterdam-Oost near Oosterpark and Muiderpoort station; current roadworks complicate access.

• Rooms: Renovated in 2026; guests regularly praise comfortable beds and good room sizes.

• Cleanliness: Strong feedback across Booking.com and Expedia; cleaning is provided on request.

• Service: Friendly, helpful reception staff are the most consistent strength across guest reviews.

• Amenities: PepeNero restaurant, bar, breakfast buffet, gym, bike rental and free Wi-Fi.

• Fees and surprises: Parking costs extra and should be reserved; check breakfast inclusion and use the temporary access directions.
