Axel's take: 8.8/10

A strong choice for modern comfort and transport links, rather than canal-side atmosphere. a modern 4-star business hotel beside Amsterdam Zuid station, scored for what it is.

INNSiDE is a modern 4-star in the Zuidas business district, and we'd pick it for reliable comfort and easy train and metro connections. Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise cleanliness, comfortable beds and helpful staff; recent Trip.com reviews reinforce the transport advantage. The panoramic Hasta La Vista, Baby! restaurant and bar adds character, while complimentary minibar drinks are a welcome extra.

The compromise is location: this is a practical base, not an atmospheric canal-neighbourhood stay. Major Zuidasdok construction around Amsterdam Zuid remains underway, so check station access and transport disruptions before arrival. Rooms favour streamlined design, and open-plan bathrooms in some categories won't suit everyone sharing. It's a strong pick for business trips and sightseeing by public transport; we'd skip it if historic surroundings and walking everywhere matter most.

• Best for: business travelers in Zuidas; sightseers comfortable using public transport; travelers prioritizing airport rail connections

• Watch out for: Zuidasdok station-area construction; outside the historic centre; open-plan bathrooms in some rooms

• Location: Beside Amsterdam Zuid for train and metro connections; sightseeing generally involves public transport.

• Rooms: Modern and comfortable according to guests; check the bathroom layout when choosing a category.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Trip.com feedback.

• Service: Recent guests repeatedly praise friendly, attentive reception staff.

• Amenities: Panoramic restaurant and bar, 24-hour gym, bike rental and complimentary minibar drinks.

• Fees and surprises: Parking and pets cost extra; check breakfast inclusion and city-tax treatment in your booking.
