Axel's take: 8.7/10

A dependable, good-value base if you’re happy taking the tram into town. a straightforward 3-star in Amsterdam’s eastern docklands, scored for what it is.

This straightforward 3-star in Amsterdam’s eastern docklands gets the important things right: clean, comfortable rooms, helpful staff and an included hot breakfast that guests repeatedly praise. Booking.com and Expedia guests agree on those strengths, with recent Trip.com reviews reinforcing the picture. It’s a strong pick for travelers who want reliable comfort rather than boutique character, with Rietlandpark tram stop a short walk away and Centraal roughly ten minutes by tram.

The main compromise is location: despite “Centre” in the name, you’re outside the historic core, so expect transit rather than sightseeing from the doorstep. A few recent guests find the decor dated or breakfast repetitive, although neither dominates the feedback. Parking costs extra. We’d skip it for a romantic canal-house atmosphere or a trip built around walking everywhere.

• Best for: value-minded city breakers; travelers comfortable using trams; business travelers

• Watch out for: outside the historic center; functional rather than characterful decor; paid parking

• Location: Eastern docklands setting, a short walk from Rietlandpark tram stop; easy access to Centraal.

• Rooms: Comfortable, air-conditioned rooms with walk-in showers; some guests consider the decor dated.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across Booking.com, Expedia and recent Trip.com feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful reception and breakfast staff receive repeated praise.

• Amenities: Included hot breakfast, free Wi-Fi, fitness center, bar and round-the-clock snacks.

• Fees and surprises: Parking is charged separately and subject to availability; city tax also applies.
