#9 of 9 hotels in East Legon by Axel's take. East Legon is #6 of 7 places to stay in Accra. The best hotels in East Legon, ranked · Where to stay in Accra

Axel's take: 6.6/10

Friendly staff and garden space make Pekan workable, but tired rooms limit its appeal. a basic apartment-style hotel in East Legon, scored for what it is.

Pekan is a basic apartment-style hotel in East Legon, rather than a polished three-star. Its own website describes bedrooms that can be booked separately within apartments, with shared lounge and kitchen space. We'd consider it for a straightforward stay near UPSA: the gardens and outdoor pool add appeal, and guests repeatedly praise the welcoming staff. Booking.com's overall rating is stronger than Expedia's, but neither suggests consistently high standards.

The main compromise is upkeep. Reviews across several years mention dated interiors, while some 2025 guests report worn kitchen equipment and maintenance faults; others describe comfortable rooms and a peaceful setting. Housekeeping feedback is mixed, too. Recent detailed evidence remains limited. Confirm your exact room, bathroom arrangements and kitchen equipment before booking. We'd skip it if reliable self-catering, modern finishes or a central sightseeing base matter most.

  • Best for: budget-minded East Legon visitors; travelers visiting UPSA

  • Watch out for: dated interiors and uneven maintenance; potentially shared apartment spaces; rough access road reported by guests

  • Location: Useful for East Legon and UPSA; less convenient for central sightseeing, with access-road complaints.

  • Rooms: Separate rooms and apartments are offered; verify bathroom privacy and usable kitchen equipment.

  • Cleanliness: Mixed feedback: some guests find rooms clean, while others flag bathroom housekeeping.

  • Service: Friendly, helpful staff are a recurring strength across guest-review sources.

  • Amenities: Outdoor pool, gardens and free on-site parking are listed; free Wi-Fi is confirmed in public areas.

  • Fees and surprises: Breakfast inclusion and arrival policies differ between listings; confirm both, plus payment methods.
