Axel's take: 7.6/10

A practical airport stop with helpful staff, but aging rooms and uncertain leisure facilities. A simple, independently run 2-star hotel near Accra airport, scored for what it is.

Airside is a simple airport-area hotel whose own website calls it 2-star, despite higher classifications elsewhere. We'd pick it for a short stopover rather than a holiday base. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise the helpful staff, clean rooms and complimentary airport shuttle; Booking.com guests also rate location and staff above room comfort. The restaurant and breakfast add convenience before a flight.

The trade-off is an aging property: recent guests on Trip.com describe an old building, and overall ratings vary considerably between sites. Don't book around the advertised pool or gym without checking: a March 2026 guest reported both were off-site and construction was ongoing; whether that work has finished is unconfirmed. There is no elevator, either. It's a sensible choice for travelers prioritizing airport access and friendly assistance; we'd skip it for polished rooms or a facilities-led stay.

• Best for: Overnight airport stopovers; Short business visits; Travelers prioritizing helpful staff

• Watch out for: Aging rooms and fittings; Pool, gym and construction status need confirmation; No elevator

• Location: In Airport Residential Area, roughly 2 km from the airport; better for flights than central sightseeing.

• Rooms: Air-conditioned and functional, but recent feedback flags the building's age and uneven comfort.

• Cleanliness: Generally positive recent feedback; cleanliness scores are stronger than room-condition scores.

• Service: Helpful staff and airport transfers are the clearest recurring strengths in recent reviews.

• Amenities: Restaurant, bar and free Wi-Fi; a March 2026 guest reported pool and gym access at another facility.

• Fees and surprises: Airport shuttle and parking are listed as free; arrange pickup ahead and confirm breakfast inclusion and construction status.
