#3 of 9 hotels in East Legon by Axel's take. East Legon is #6 of 7 places to stay in Accra. The best hotels in East Legon, ranked · Where to stay in Accra

Axel's take: 7.3/10

A practical Legon base with welcoming service, but uneven polish. an independent 3-star hotel in East Legon, scored for what it is.

Erata is an independent 3-star hotel in East Legon, best suited to university visits and business trips rather than sightseeing in central Accra. We'd consider it for its spacious rooms, outdoor pool and useful inclusions: breakfast, Wi-Fi and airport transfers. The limited 2025–2026 feedback is encouraging, with Tripadvisor and Expedia guests praising hospitality and room cleanliness, although some reviews appear across multiple sites.

Expect a functional hotel rather than a consistently polished one. Older feedback describes dated rooms, occasional maintenance problems and uneven reception service; food opinions remain mixed. Expedia lists no elevator, an important drawback if stairs are difficult. Confirm airport pickup directly before traveling. It's a sensible option when Legon is your destination; we'd look elsewhere for modern finishes or a walkable central sightseeing base.

  • Best for: University of Ghana visitors; business travelers with meetings around Legon; travelers wanting a pool and airport transfers

  • Watch out for: No elevator; Dated rooms and uneven upkeep in older reviews; Not a central sightseeing base

  • Location: East Legon location suits university visits better than exploring central Accra on foot.

  • Rooms: Guests often describe spacious rooms; older reports flag dated furnishings and occasional maintenance issues.

  • Cleanliness: Recent available feedback is positive, but the small sample does not establish consistent standards.

  • Service: Hospitality draws strong recent praise, contrasting with some older reception complaints.

  • Amenities: Outdoor and children's pools, restaurant, gym, meeting facilities and complimentary breakfast are listed.

  • Fees and surprises: Airport transfers and parking are advertised as free; area shuttles cost extra. Confirm pickup arrangements.
