This historic 4-star aparthotel turns Hornsey Town Hall's Art Deco character into a genuinely useful North London base. Now called AMTD Dao by Dorsett Hornsey, it opened in November 2025. We'd strongly consider it for visiting family locally or a longer, self-catering stay: Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Hotels.com guests consistently praise the cleanliness, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchenettes and welcoming staff. The appeal is character with practical comforts, rather than full-service luxury.

The main compromises are location and unfinished dining provision. Crouch End has plenty of cafés and restaurants, but reaching the Underground generally means a bus connection or a substantial walk. The hotel's own website still says its food-and-drink outlets are coming soon, despite some booking listings advertising restaurants. There's no on-site parking, either. We'd skip it for a sightseeing trip where quick Tube access or hotel dining matters most.
