A strong campus pick with character, friendly service and a rooftop worth visiting. a collegiate-themed 4-star hotel across from Michigan State, scored for what it is.

Graduate is a collegiate-themed 4-star across from Michigan State, and we'd put it high on the list for campus visits. Its Spartan-inspired interiors have more personality than a standard chain hotel, while downtown restaurants are within easy walking distance. Recent Expedia and Tripadvisor guests repeatedly praise clean, comfortable rooms and welcoming staff. Graduate Rock Bar's rooftop views give it a genuine advantage over more functional alternatives.

The trade-offs are mostly practical: on-site parking is paid valet only, breakfast costs extra, and rooftop access can be limited by crowds.
