Axel's take: 6.2/10
A handy beach base, but room condition and check-in are inconsistent. basic, privately managed hotel rooms inside Mantra on View, scored for what it is.
Serain Residences on View offers basic, privately managed rooms inside Mantra on View—not a full-service hotel stay or a proper self-catering apartment. Its strongest asset is the location: beach, trams, restaurants and Cavill Avenue are within easy walking distance, and guests regularly praise the views. We'd consider it for a short, location-first stay, but not for dependable hotel comfort.
Booking.com ratings are stronger than Expedia's, and experiences vary considerably between rooms. Alongside comfortable stays, recent reviews describe dirty carpets, broken fittings and troublesome air conditioning; several guests also report cockroaches. Key collection is off-site, and the building's reception does not manage these bookings. Serain warns of nearby construction and nightlife noise, while building leisure facilities are excluded. Skip it if consistent cleanliness, easy arrival or resort amenities matter more than location.
-
Best for: car-free beach breaks; short stays prioritizing location
-
Watch out for: uneven cleanliness and maintenance; off-site keys and separate management; construction and nightlife noise; no leisure-facility access
-

-
Rooms: Simple hotel-style rooms with balconies and bar fridges; no cooking facilities, and condition varies.
-
Cleanliness: Mixed feedback: clean stays coexist with repeated dirt complaints and several cockroach reports.
-
Service: Remote management receives both praise and complaints; collect keys roughly 250 metres away.
-
Amenities: Lifts are listed by Serain; leisure facilities are excluded, and Wi-Fi availability varies by room.
-
Fees and surprises: No included parking; a refundable damage deposit applies, and construction noise is flagged.
