Axel's take: 8.8/10

Spacious suites and standout breakfast, but October repairs warrant checking before booking. a modern, mid-range all-suite hotel at downtown’s north end, scored for what it is.

This modern, mid-range all-suite hotel at downtown’s north end is a strong pick for extra space and useful inclusions. Tripadvisor, Booking.com and Expedia guests consistently praise clean, roomy accommodations, welcoming staff and the cooked-to-order breakfast. The included evening reception adds value, and the riverside setting puts restaurants and DeVos Place within walking distance. It delivers particularly well on the basics that matter for family and business stays.

The immediate catch is repairs: TiCATi lists the pool, lounge balcony areas and outside hot tub as closed October 5–30, 2026, with exterior construction weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Confirm directly before booking; we’d skip it during that window if swimming or daytime quiet matters. Parking costs extra, and Van Andel Arena is about a mile away rather than right outside.

• Best for: families wanting extra space; DeVos Place business travelers; travelers who value included breakfast

• Watch out for: Reported pool, lounge balcony and outside hot tub closures October 5–30, 2026; Weekday exterior construction during the repair window; Paid parking; arena roughly a mile away

• Location: North Monroe riverside setting, walkable restaurants and DeVos Place; farther from the arena.

• Rooms: Guests repeatedly praise spacious, comfortable suites; select categories offer balconies and river views.

• Cleanliness: A consistent strength across recent Tripadvisor, Expedia and Booking.com feedback.

• Service: Friendly, helpful staff earn repeated praise across review sites.

• Amenities: Cooked-to-order breakfast, evening reception and gym; confirm pool and hot tub reopening after repairs.

• Fees and surprises: Attached garage parking and pets incur fees; TiCATi also lists a mandatory marketing assessment.
