7.7/10
Useful kitchens and comfortable rooms, but upkeep and housekeeping aren't consistently reliable.
This is a no-frills 3-star extended-stay hotel, now branded Sonesta Simply Suites Ann Arbor University. We'd consider it for a practical stay rather than a polished getaway: equipped kitchens, laundry facilities and a 24-hour gym make longer visits easier. Expedia's recent guests frequently praise comfortable beds, clean rooms and helpful staff; Booking.com guests also appreciate the suite space. The location suits drivers visiting the university, with shopping and restaurants nearby.
The catch is consistency. Tripadvisor and Expedia both contain recent complaints about bathroom cleaning and dated fittings, alongside plenty of satisfied stays. Noise from neighboring rooms or the freeway can also intrude. Sonesta says full-service housekeeping comes at 14-day intervals for longer stays, and parking and pets cost extra. We'd skip it if daily cleaning, reliably fresh interiors or a downtown location matter most.

Best for: longer stays with self-catering; university visitors with a car; travelers bringing pets
Watch out for: uneven cleaning and dated fittings; room and freeway noise; limited housekeeping; parking and pet fees
Location: Near I-94, Briarwood Mall and restaurants; more practical for driving than downtown sightseeing.
Rooms: Studios and one-bedroom suites with equipped kitchens; comfortable beds earn praise, but some fittings show wear.
Cleanliness: Broadly positive booking-site ratings, tempered by repeated recent bathroom-cleaning complaints.
Service: Helpful staff receive frequent praise, though desk availability and problem handling vary.
Amenities: In-room kitchens, guest laundry, a 24-hour gym, barbecue area, free Wi-Fi and morning coffee.
Fees and surprises: Parking and pets incur fees; full-service cleaning is scheduled every 14 days on stays longer than 14 days.
