Hotels in Williamsburg, VirginiaA mid-range timeshare condo resort with spacious family suites
7.9/10
A good family base for space and self-catering, with some comfort compromises.
Vacation Village at Williamsburg is a mid-range timeshare condo resort, not a conventional full-service hotel. It's a good pick for families who want separate bedrooms, kitchen facilities and room to spread out. Recent Expedia guests repeatedly praise spacious, clean accommodations and friendly staff; Booking.com feedback broadly agrees. The heated indoor pool, seasonal outdoor pool and recreation facilities give families something to do between sightseeing trips.
The trade-off is consistency: Tripadvisor guests describe uneven room condition, uncomfortable mattresses and sound carrying between floors. There are no elevators or included daily housekeeping, and most suites share laundry facilities. Expedia also flags neighboring-building construction that may cause noise. Confirm resort fees before booking, since the official FAQ and booking sites describe them differently. We'd skip it for a car-free trip or if quiet, polished rooms matter more than space.

Best for: Families wanting separate bedrooms; Self-catering stays; Sightseers traveling by car
Watch out for: Uneven room comfort and soundproofing; Stairs to upper-floor suites; Neighboring construction and unclear fee schedules
Location: A driving base for local attractions; the resort says Busch Gardens is about 15 minutes away, with no shuttle.
Rooms: Large suites with patios or balconies; confirm full versus partial kitchen, and expect shared laundry in most units.
Cleanliness: Generally strong feedback on Expedia and Booking.com, despite some room-preparation failures reported on Tripadvisor.
Service: Friendly, helpful staff receive frequent praise; some Tripadvisor guests report check-in and problem-handling lapses.
Amenities: Heated indoor pool, seasonal outdoor pool, hot tub, gym, courts and playgrounds; no on-site restaurant.
Fees and surprises: Free parking; resort fee and security hold apply, housekeeping costs extra, and Expedia flags neighboring construction. Verify your reservation's fee terms.
